development
This was a significant development for our long standing client Lismore City Council. Oakes Oval was transformed into a world class AFL and cricket facility.
This redevelopment was a key milestone in the Lismore City Council’s CBD revitalisation and recentralisation program.
The oval was reshaped to AFL stringent guidelines to enable Lismore to attract AFL games to the region. Delivered under a design and construct contract the scope included building new grandstands, a complete refurbishment of player and official facilities, reshaping spectator grounds, new playing surface, screens, electronic scoreboards and communication interface.

Highlights
Custom made
grandstands
The grandstands were modular and put together on site. Custom made to suit the grounds. To provide significant savings to the project we designed a structural solution to allow the existing light poles to remain. To enable this, under-boring and challenging structural interaction was required.
The player and official facilities were enabled by stripping the existing completely, structural modifications and a complete refit to comply with national and international standards.
