The Casino Affordable Housing project involved constructing three low-rise buildings with nine two-bedroom units, featuring modern services such as on-site stormwater treatment. Utilising a modular approach, the project efficiently reduced build time from 36 weeks to 20 weeks, addressing the urgent housing need within five months. The innovative design included stormwater systems that effectively managed water retention and treatment, as well as a foundation solution using screw piers to mitigate risks from reactive soils. Key modifications during the project, such as replacing Besser blocks with a versa wall dry stack system, further optimised costs and construction efficiency.
