The Administration building consisted of significant internal glazing to house new internal office, an open plan workstation office spaces, boardroom and new staff kitchen and dining area. The GLA building provides a large open cathedral type space through the use of large operable walls and external sliding doors. Creative caves and stainless benchtops and sinks provide a great area for aspiring young artists. The roof beams and acoustic raft in the raked ceiling provide the acoustic treatment to provide an extra-large usable space for the school for performances and functions. External decking, handrails, plantings and turf completed the work.
Working in the centre of the school posed constant access and delivery issues with good and clear communication essential. Interaction between the client and Bennett’s was highly valued with the Principal Rob Tobias highly impressed with the finished result.
