Six Senior Living Apartments
This development included the construction of a two storey building containing 4 units and two single detached dwellings to provide a total of six Senior Living Apartments as part of the continuing expansion of the Caroona Aged Care facility.
The construction provided us with many challenges including maintaining access throughout the facility at all times for emergency and other vehicles.
Nurse call systems and Duress alarms were fitted and interconnected with the existing buildings.
This project was completed on a reclaimed creek, which had to be reconstituted to allow construction to proceed. The significant hydrostatic pressures needed to be considered in the construction methodology.
The building structure is timber frame and truss on concrete slabs with brick to the exterior and a tiled roof. The building’s interior is predominately plasterboard walls and ceilings. The floor coverings are decorative vinyl and carpet.
A new road was provided to the complex. The building exterior and internal courtyards are complemented with extensive landscaping and paving.
