Multi-level aged
care facility
This project was a multi-level aged care facility built in the grounds of the Alstonville Adventist Retirement Village which overlooks the lush Alstonville Plateau.
The design was for 35 Low Care beds in single rooms with ensuites and 16 special care beds also in spacious single rooms with ensuites.
The scope of works carried out included;
– Independent living units
– Special care beds
– Low care beds
– Dining rooms
– Commercial kitchen
– Entertainment facilities
– Client adminities
– Nursing quarters
– Medical suites

Construction
methodology
The construction methodology was typically concrete and masonry. Building orientation played a key role in the master plan. Sunlight filters into most areas and internal fit out included high impact products being used.
The broad weather conditions on the plateau and the ground conditions tested early works, but once slabs were on the ground the construction process went very smoothly.
