Bennett Constructions was engaged under a Design and Construct contract to deliver this exceptional project.
This 5 star resort was constructed on a beautiful 40 acre site located on the beach at Belongil, Byron Bay. It offers world class facilities including restaurants, an external wood fired pizza oven and outdoor area, cafes, reception, high end function rooms, day spa, gymnasium, beach entry pool that’s over one acre in size with a fire pit, administration and back of house facilities, house keeping, commercial kitchens and private dining.

The catch came with the brief. That is, ‘we want a building shaped like a sand dune’.
The roof area is 4,600m2 with over 50% of the external walls being operable to enable the natural environment to dominate the experience. The roof is significantly larger than the habitable spaces to enable large overhands to heighten this experience.
